The LewPeaLab is a cognitive neuroscience research laboratory at The University of Texas at Austin, led by Dr. Jarrod Lewis-Peacock. Our lab studies how the brain selects, protects, manipulates, and clears information in working memory to guide adaptive, goal-directed behavior. We use advanced functional neuroimaging techniques and computational approaches to understand how cognitive control shapes what the mind acts on, how it stays resilient to distraction, and why this process sometimes breaks down. These same mechanisms shape how well we focus, adapt, and think clearly under pressure, every single day.
